2023 was truly a banner year for Mobile Heartbeat. We brought back MHUG and hosted our first user conference since 2019 in our back yard of Boston. Noteworthy highlights from MHUG include:

  • Over 50 attendees from more than 20 different hospitals
  • 16 partner attendees from 9 separate organizations
  • Plenty of peer-to-peer collaboration and networking
  • Professional presentations and demos
  • After hour customer events including a dinner cruise through the Boston harbor

With so much positive feedback received from this event, we can?t wait to bring it back in 2025. So, stay tuned as dates and location will be announced in the coming months.

In the meantime, we’d like to highlight just a few (ok, more than a few) milestones we achieved throughout 2023:

Gartner Magic Quadrant

A best-in-class technology, Mobile Heartbeat was thrilled to be recognized as a “”Leader”” in the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Clinical Communication and Collaboration. The publishing of a Magic Quadrant in this category along with our recognition as a Leader confirms what we?ve long believed: Communication is foundational to high performing health systems.

Banyan

As part of a commitment to future innovation, earlier this year Mobile Heartbeat released Banyan™ — a cloud native platform built on the Microsoft Azure® infrastructure. Beyond traditional CC&C capabilities, Banyan also features:

  • Modular architecture – tailor your feature sets to your unique needs.
  • Integration with Microsoft Teams®, which extends communication to non-clinical users and leverages existing corporate investments.
  • Voice control as a user interface.
  • AI copilots that leverage chatbots for real-time operational insights.

Monthly Active Users

According to Metcalfe’s Law, a clinical communication tool becomes more valuable when more people use it. That’s why we track our monthly active users, the number of people who are actually logging into and utilizing our platform on a regular basis and we have some amazing results to report, among them: in August we broke over 287,000 monthly active users. This pace of growth is not just exciting, it’s groundbreaking.

Nurse Calls Received

Nurse call is an absolute staple of any enterprise healthcare organization, which is why we?ve worked hard to integrate with every major nurse call system in the industry. In fact, across all our customers, Mobile Heartbeat delivered 19.4 million nurse call alerts to end users in October alone! Each time a nurse call request is initiated and delivered it?s an example of a patient connecting with their care team.

With our CURECONNECT API integrations there is no middleware necessary between systems, ensuring the fastest, most reliable delivery to end users. No matter what nurse call system your hospital uses, our platform makes it possible to receive all your alerts on one device.

Texts Sent

In the world of clinical communication and collaboration, secure texting is one of the core capabilities and we’re proud of how comprehensive and dynamic our texting function is. Between texts with images and group texts, we’ve been changing the way the healthcare industry understands and uses text messages.

Across all of our users, we send over 29 million text messages monthly since January 2023, 8% increase over last year. Since the launch of  CURE Analytics, we know that these millions of text messages are forging new and improved clinical workflows.

Clinical Alerts Received

It’s possibly one of the most valuable elements of the Mobile Heartbeat platform: being able to receive clinical alerts right to your smartphone. As these alerts can range in both content and urgency, serving such a broad necessity at such a high volume demonstrates how reliable we are, no matter how critical or mundane the message. That
s why it’s no surprise we saw over 25 million critical alerts monthly this year.

1 Billion Communication Events

All of these events on Mobile Heartbeat have made possible an important milestone that we are very proud of – achieving the goal of 1 billion communication events.

Total Facilities

As of October 2023, Mobile Heartbeat has been installed in over 314 facilities ranging in type from 100-bed independent community hospitals up to large, 3,000-bed IDN facilities. We implement our platform enterprise-wide, providing communication and collaboration to every role in every facility, and our numbers support this: When you consider our number of facilities against our monthly active users, it comes out to over 897 users per facility each month. In 2024 we expect these numbers to continue to grow as we provide new solutions to our customers biggest communication problems.

As we close out 2023 and look ahead to the New Year, we can’t help but be excited for what the future holds. The team here at Mobile Heartbeat wish you a joyous holiday season and look forward to engaging with you in 2024.
